Prospect Football Academy

My name is Michael Hornsby, I have been fortunate enough to play football all over the world and have a unique story surrounding the game.

I grew up in Germany playing in the Bundesliga academy of SC Freiburg, while also playing at various other youth clubs in the country. Growing up in Germany gives you a football education that is different than here in Australia. You play every day and grow up with the game. The game is part of the culture and daily life there and it reflects in peoples ability to play and understand the game. The level of playing and coaching is at a high level and I feel fortunate to have learned the game through the German lens.

After playing my youth football in Germany, I decided to move to the USA to play in college. An amazing opportunity to combine football and university and also an interesting pathway that I can only recommend for players. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and later a Masters in Business Administration.

After university, I played professional soccer in the USA before moving back to Germany, New Zealand, and now Australia for football.

I have coached all over the world and have seen first hand what it takes for young players to reach the highest levels of the game. My goal with this academy is to help young Australian players reach new levels within the sport. I want to use my experience and network in the game to provide an education and opportunity for every player whose dream is to advance within the game.
